# Reschedule, hand off or cancel a meeting

Open the meeting in **Bookings** and choose the action that matches the change.

## Reschedule with the same hosts

Use Reschedule to move the time while retaining the intended hosts. Choose an offered available slot and confirm. Distro rechecks availability and updates the calendar and applicable messages.

Workflow-booked meetings use their supported workflow reschedule page. If an API move operation tells you to use a reschedule URL, follow that flow rather than changing raw timestamps yourself.

## Hand off to a different host

Use **Hand off** when responsibility changes. Choose a member or queue where supported and review the new time. The replacement host needs a usable calendar, and any required co-hosts can narrow the available times.

Confirm the new host, calendar invitation and conferencing details after completion. Turn refunds depend on the original queue's routing profile; inspect the assignment log when fairness matters.

## Cancel

Enter a clear reason and confirm the cancellation. Distro updates the meeting and its calendar delivery; pending reminders should no longer be sent for a cancelled meeting.

Cancellation is different from marking a no-show. Use the actual outcome so lifecycle workflows and reporting receive the right status.

## If an action cannot finish

Inspect the meeting's state and provider delivery. A retained request does not prove the calendar update succeeded. Ask an admin to inspect the workflow run if recovery or reconciliation is required.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.distro.so/scheduling/manage-meetings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
